Our Little Water Garden

Well, how did this all start? We have always had aquariums around the house, and one day a pond was discussed. Then one day, lucky or unlucky (depending on how you look at it!) I stopped by this little garden center. The guy has a yard full of concrete statues, so I was looking around. Lo and behold, next thing I know, I have a cracked pond liner strapped in the truck, free of charge, "Just take it", he says. So I patched it and thought it'd be a nice little experiment. So that's how it started.

In The Beginning....

Now, this was a nice little pond, we probably got $100 in it, pumps, filters, fish, water and all. OK, I lied! The first thing that happened....After a week or so, every thing seems fine, so we go to the local home center and buy $100 worth of plants. Pond plants aren't cheap. We get home, and there's no water in the pond! How Ironic! The patch on the cracked liner let's go the day we buy plants! Back to the Do It Yourself Store, buy a liner, take this one out, and replace. At least they were the same liner, I didn't have to dig anymore! So now we're up to $200, and a little hassle. The pond survived all summer, and thru the winter, fish and all. It was a cool little part of the garden, which we call our "Thoughtful Spot"(OK, I stole it from Pooh!) Now the following summer.......

And now the work begins!
